PUBLIC SAFETY

Public safety remains a top priority for Commissioner Bolton, and Super District 7 supports our county leadership to implement smart, effective solutions that protect and empower our communities. One of the most transformative tools in this effort is the development of a countywide Real-Time Crime Center. This advanced platform will enhance response times, improve coordination among law enforcement agencies, and support evidence-based interventions to reduce crime and strengthen neighborhood trust.
Commissioner Bolton also supports and has allocated funds toward the strategic deployment of Flock cameras throughout the district to bolster public safety while maintaining accountability and transparency. These devices offer real-time license plate recognition and critical data that assist law enforcement in deterring criminal activity, recovering stolen property, and improving investigative outcomes. With this technology in place, residents can feel a greater sense of security in their neighborhoods.
Beyond technology, our commitment to revitalization includes hosting community clean-up events that bring together county departments, residents, and local small businesses. These gatherings promote pride of place and lay the foundation for lasting beautification strategies. Commissioner Bolton also advocates for initiatives that expand homeownership opportunities—recognizing that strong, stable households are the bedrock of safe and thriving communities. Together, these efforts reflect a comprehensive approach to safety, resilience, and progress across DeKalb County.
